Privacy Policy

Pebbles · Last updated: August 2026

Overview

Pebbles is designed with privacy at its core. Your tally data - counter names, values, history, goals, and preferences - stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. Pebbles uses two privacy-focused services for anonymous crash reporting and aggregate usage analytics; these never receive your tally content or any information that identifies you, as described in the Analytics & Diagnostics section below.

Data Collection

No personal data is collected directly.

All tally data, including counter names, values, history, goals, and preferences, is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage systems.

The one exception is under your control: when sending feedback, you can optionally include your email address if you would like a reply. See the Feedback Feature section below.

iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled, your tally data syncs across your devices via Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. This data is handled entirely by Apple under their privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

In-App Purchases

Pebbles uses RevenueCat to process in-app purchases. RevenueCat may collect anonymized purchase data as described in their privacy policy. No personal identifiers are shared by us with RevenueCat.

Apple Search Ads Attribution

If your download came from an Apple Search Ads ad, Apple's AdServices framework gives us an anonymous attribution token, processed through RevenueCat, that tells us which campaign and keyword led to the download - nothing more. It contains no advertising identifier (IDFA) and nothing that identifies you or your device.

Feedback Feature

When you submit feedback through the app, your message along with the app version and iOS version are sent to an external service for processing. Feedback is anonymous by default: no personal identifiers such as your name, email, or device ID are included unless you add them yourself.

You can optionally include your email address if you would like a reply. Providing it is entirely voluntary and counts as your consent to be contacted about your feedback. It is used solely to respond to you, never for marketing, and is deleted once your request has been handled. Feedback, including an email address if provided, is processed and stored on Google infrastructure, under Google's privacy policy. You can request deletion of your feedback or email address at any time via the contact address below.

Notifications

Pebbles can send reminder notifications for your tallies. The notifications are scheduled and delivered locally on your device, and their content is never transmitted externally. As with other features, the anonymous usage analytics described under Analytics & Diagnostics may record that the reminders feature is used.

Widgets & Apple Watch

Pebbles provides Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Control Center widgets, plus an Apple Watch app. These run on your device and never transmit your tally content externally. Counting from a widget, the Apple Watch, or Siri may be included in the anonymous usage analytics described under Analytics & Diagnostics (for example, which surface you count from) - never your tally names or values.

Analytics & Diagnostics

Pebbles uses two privacy-focused services to stay stable and to understand which features are useful. Both are configured to be anonymous: they never receive your name, email, account, tally names, counts, or goal values, and we do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).

Sentry collects anonymous crash and diagnostic reports so we can find and fix bugs. We have disabled personal data and configured Sentry not to store IP addresses or any location derived from them. See Sentry's privacy policy.

TelemetryDeck provides anonymous, aggregate usage analytics - for example which features are used and whether onboarding is working - using a one-way, non-reversible identifier that cannot be traced back to you. It does not store IP addresses and processes data within the European Union. See TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.

We do not track you across other apps or websites, do not build advertising profiles, and do not sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all Pebbles data by uninstalling the app. If you use iCloud sync, you can also remove synced data through your iCloud settings.

Feedback submissions are kept only as long as needed to act on them, and an email address included with feedback is deleted once your request has been resolved. You can request earlier deletion at any time via the contact address below.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
